Creative Universal Multifunctional Knife Holder

The Creative Universal Multifunctional Knife Holder from Cutlery Club is a knife block that skips the usual pre-cut slots. Inside is a core of tightly packed fine plastic rods. Push a knife in anywhere and the rods spread apart and close around the blade to hold it upright. Because nothing is fixed to a set slot, it takes knives of different lengths and widths, and each blade sits in its own space instead of knocking against the others.

The rod core is PC plastic and the outside has a soft-touch, easy-grip rubber coating that keeps a clean look on the worktop. It is washable and simple to keep hygienic: wash in warm soapy water and leave to dry. The block measures 11 by 22 cm (4.3 by 8.6 in) and weighs about 1000 grams.

It comes in two styles. Worth knowing up front: this is the holder only, so knives are not included, and the rods grip each blade rather than locking it in place, so the block is made to stand upright on the counter.
